Don’t Let The Fear Of Video Marketing Paralyze You… Just Do It!

Posted on 22. Jul, 2010 by in Success Mindset

Have you ever been so scared to do something like jump off a high dive at a pool, go rafting down a roaring river, or perhaps make a video to put on your blog,  that it paralyzes you? You begin to feel that big pit in your stomach and you want to avoid the whole situation all together… so you allow FEAR to become more POWERFUL that you! Have you ever been in this situation?

Well, this is how I felt about making a video for my blog… I was scared half to death, shaking, sick to my stomach and a nervous wreck, kind of silly don’t you think? I avoided every possible opportunity to make a video and when I did try to make one, I would watch it, hit the rewind button, erase it and repeat the same process over and over again. So I was allowing FEAR to completely control me in making a video of myself and sharing it on my blog.

I want to share with you how I overcame my fear of creating and posting my very first video. I conquered a huge obstacle in my life and boy does it feel good.

JUST DO IT! I love that little saying, it’s pretty powerful. When you finally just do it, get over the fear, quite fighting yourself, and do that certain something that is holding you back from your dreams, then you can say to yourself… Right On!  I did it, now nothing is going to stop me from achieving what I want in my life.

Big Drastic Change…

There is a big drastic change happening to the Internet, blogging and social media marketing and it all has to do with video marketing, and you want to be a part of it! Video marketing is the ticket, you want to defiantly create your first video, don’t let fear hold you back. Share your knowledge, your story, your experiences by creating videos, this is the way people get to know you, so like my mentor said… JUST DO IT!!!

The only way to get rid of my fears is to make films about them. ~ Alfred Hitchcock

Can you relate to my story and my fear? Has there be anything holding you back, maybe a hidden fear? How did it feel to make your first video? Or are you like I was, so full of fear it completely stops you from doing something you know you are truly meant to do? Please share your story down below with us!

I would really love to have any feedback, advice, comments, and to know what you are thinking. I love hearing from you all. If you feel that this has helped, inspired, enlightened you in any way please share it on Facebook, Twitter or any of your other favorite hangouts.

Obstacles are like wild animals.  They are cowards but they will bluff you if they can.  If they see you are afraid of them… they are liable to spring upon you; but if you look them squarely in the eye, they will slink out of sight.  ~Orison Swett Marden

So what do YOU think? No more FEAR in your life!

I’m really glad you stop by my site today, I’ll be speaking with you again very soon!

Bravo!! I am on the verge of making my first vlog and loved watching yours just now.

I love the quote about obstacles and wild animals. How true it is that when we stop short, the obstacle just seems to get bigger. When we charge right through it we realize there was nothing much there at all in the first place.

Great Job getting over that fear of the camera Christina. I can’t say that I’ve ever had a fear, but I sure had my share of thousands of bloopers. LOL. Now because I’ve done it so much it comes as natural as talking to an actual person. Believe me, sometimes there’s still a “Take One” or “Take Two” but it has improved so much with just doing it, keep up the good work.

    Hi Christina,

You have absolutely inspired me to get over my fear of making a video. I, like you did not want to see myself on video, too harsh for myself, and these self critical blocks are definitely getting in my way.
So my motto is going to be “What would I do in my life right now, if I could not fail”

    Thanks so much.

    Carol McWilliams

    @Carol McWilliams,
    Hi Carol,
You go girl!!! So glad I inspired you to let go of your fear… it’s scary at first, but you can do it!
So glad I inspired you to go for it… we are our own stopping block… and I look at failure as not at least trying somehting new… if you don’t try then you just fail yourself and we sure don’t want that!
    Take care Carol,
Do you have a gravatar (your picture) because I can’t see your face… go to my blog and I will show you how to get a picture if you don’t have one yet! We want to see your beautiful face…
